Pamela Hayden Bids Farewell to Milhouse After 35 Years on The Simpsons

Pamela Hayden, the voice behind Milhouse Van Houten and several other characters on The Simpsons, is stepping away after an impressive tenure of 35 years. Her decision was announced by Fox through a press release that included a heartfelt video tribute from the team behind the beloved series.

Besides her prominent part as Milhouse, Hayden has lent her voice to characters like Jimbo Jones and Rod Flanders, contributing to the show's rich tapestry of humor and charm. Her final performance as Milhouse and Jimbo Jones will air this Sunday in the episode titled "Treehouse of Horror: A Wickedly Simpsons Spectacle" Way Comes." This episode will feature Lisa as she journeys into three unique tales inspired by eras spanning from the wholesome 1950s to a future dominated by high-concept television.

As for the future of these characters, Fox has mentioned that they will begin the process of casting for Hayden's roles in the near future. In her own words, she expressed her mixed emotions about leaving the show, stating that saying goodbye is no easy task. It has genuinely been rewarding to be a part of such an innovative and comedic series.

Milhouse has been a staple character since the early days of The Simpsons, first appearing in a Butterfinger ad that predated the series itself. With nearly 700 episodes to her name, Hayden's presence will surely be missed as the show continues into its 36th season.
