Halo Infinite Welcomes Classic Multiplayer Mode After 18 Months Post-Launch

In a long-awaited move, Halo Infinite has finally announced the addition of its classic multiplayer mode, a full 18 months after the game's initial release. Fans of the series who have been clamoring for the return of this iconic game mode can now rejoice, as the latest update will fulfill their nostalgic gameplay expectations.

The introduction of the classic multiplayer mode comes as part of Halo Infinite's multiplayer Season 2, themed as Lone Wolves. As reported by PC Gamer, Lone Wolves encompasses a variety of free-for-all game modes, including Slayer, Oddball, and King of the Hill, reminiscent of the original Halo experience. In addition, this update brings the return of Regicide, a feature that was initially introduced in Halo 4.

One of the most popular Halo custom game types will soon be available in Halo Infinite, as announced by 343. Infection, which originated in Halo 3, is a mode where a small group of infected players hunts down un-infected players. Every murder by the infected turns the victim to their side, and the objective for the uninfected is to stay alive until the timer runs out.

As the classic multiplayer mode finally makes its way into Halo Infinite, the 18-month wait is a testament to both the developer's dedication to delivering an authentic gaming experience and the passionate fanbase that has never ceased requesting its return. With the much-anticipated update now live, both new and returning players are set to engage in classic gameplay, reminiscent of the halcyon days of the Halo saga.
