A New Trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Shares Campaign Gameplay
- 366
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is on its way to the players. While the release date is close, Activision releases the official launch trailer which shows more of the gameplay. The trailer is focused on the story rather than gameplay, yet it tells quite a lot about the style. Sometimes it’s even hard to believe we’re not watching a live action movie.
The length of the trailer is just a bit over one minute. Yet it shows quite a lot to those knowing what they are to see. It is mostly a narrative-based single-player game, and the video shows where it’s set and how it’s played. You can also appreciate the cinematic level visuals, making Modern Warfare 2 look probably the best in the franchise. The mechanics and the AI have also been remade, but this trailer does not show this.
We already know that Modern Warfare II will be set in the modern time, and the story will follow protagonists from Task Force 141 who have to oppose the Russian military, an international drug cartel, and an Islamic terrorist organization. As for gameplay, the trailer doesn’t give away anything significant. You learn about the protagonists on the mission, about the set pieces (some of which have already been revealed), and about the overall style.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is scheduled on October 28. It will be released for PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series X. If you have preordered the game, the campaign will become available a week earlier. As for the multiplayer mode, it will launch on the official release date. There will be several multiplayer modes, but because of the decision to link phone numbers to battle.net accounts, it will be problematic for some players to join in.
